  • Providing consulting services associated with the professional development of faculty members.
  • Carrying out teaching evaluations.
  • Bestowing an Excellence in Teaching Award/Excellent Academic Advisor Award (includes offering flexible compensation).
  • Planning and providing education/training for teaching assistants.
  • Implementing other measures related to faculty development.

  • Assisting in the professional development of faculty members
    1 . Sponsor teaching related seminars/workshops/demonstrations.
    2 . Provide grants associated with the professional development of faculty members.
    3 . Organize faculty members’ professional development groups.
    4 . Offer consulting sessions for preparing lesson plans.
    5 . Provide awards for excellent lesson plans.
    6 . Offer sessions related to innovative and featured teaching.
    7 . Assist in providing problem-based-learning (PBL) courses.

  • Implementing teaching evaluations and providing awards
    1. Carry out teaching evaluations.
    2. Bestow an Excellence in Teaching Award/Excellent Academic Advisor Award (includes offering flexible compensation).

  • Providing consultation and assistance in teaching.
    1. Provide teaching resources.
    2. Offer education/training sessions for new faculty members.
    3. Conduct classroom observations.
    4. Call a meeting of the Committee for Faculty Professional Development.
    5. Assist faculty members who have not passed the faculty review.
    6. Encourage senior faculty members to work with junior faculty members.

  • Assisting teaching assistants
    1. Offer education/training sessions
    2. Evaluate TAs’ job performances
    3. Offer awards

  • Operating the Center for Regional Teaching Resources:
    1. Set up faculty members’ E-portfolios
    2. Assist students to take courses offered by other institutions, and students of other institutions to enroll into our courses
    3. Collaborate with other educational institutions to share resources with each other (e.g., books, equipment, etc.).
