What are the roles of an electronic assistant (EA)?

Ongoing challenges and opportunities are enormous for the University to move towards an environment which offers more online learning opportunities. Faculty members and students are going to face more challenges in teaching, learning, and connecting online.

To assist faculty members to teach by using digital equipment to enhance their teaching, and augment students’ learning, the University plans to train more EAs. Moreover, the University has decided to offer its online courses to more educational institutions, so EAs will play a role of connecting the University with other institutions.

Each EA will learn more about using the media, gaining the skills of recording, editing and post-production, etc.

What are the qualifications and how to become an EA?

  • Students with passion, work ethics and sense of responsibility, and more than that, they are interested in media design and digital teaching, are suitable to serve others as EAs.
  • Those who have attended education and training sessions, which include an introduction class, asynchronous online class, and making a presentation of audiovisual work, and passed the exams, may join us as EAs.

Take an exam and give a presentation of an audiovisual work

    • How to work on an audiovisual work?
      1. Make a 5 minute video.
      2. Choose your topic, and work on filming, editing and doing post-production, which include title, subtitle and credits title.
      3. Respect intellectual property rights. In case you use material which is not yours, you need to put them in the reference.
    • What should be included in the presentation?
      1. Description of your topic.
      2. The kind of media software you use.
      3. The thoughts and skills related to your work (upload the link with your work).
    • How to submit the work?
      1. Upload your work to Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. and provide the link.
      2. Upload the link and the description of your work by using Microsoft Word.
      3. Our staff will send you an email after receiving your work, and start the review process.
