Notification of Personal Data Collection

In accordance with Article 8 of the Personal Data Protection Act, the University is required to inform applicants of numerous University grants about the following matters. You are advised to read them carefully before filling in the application form:

1. Personal data collector: Tzu Chi University

2. Purpose of collection:

The University would like to provide students with the grants listed below:

  • Grant for peer learning group
    • Grant for attending an off-campus competition
    • Grant for presenting a research paper
    • Grant for obtaining a professional certification/license

3. Types of data the University will collect:

  • Individual’s identification (C001) and financial profile (C002): Specifically, the University will collect the student’s name, department/institute/program, student ID number, student’s current program, such as Ph.D. program/master’s program/undergraduate program, phone number, address, email address, a copy of the student ID card, photos related to the presentation, ID number related to the expenditure, and bank account number related to the expenditure.
  • Education credential or skill (C052): Specifically, the University will request that student provide a copy of diploma, transcript of the last semester, conduct grade of the last semester, transcript of the current semester, and conduct grade of the current semester.

4. Period, geographical location and use of personal data:

  • Period: From application day to grant payment day
  • Geographical location: Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, or Matsu.
  • Use: The University will use your personal data to conduct a statistical analysis, and provide it to the Ministry of Education, or to be used by the University for evaluation or analysis.

5. You can exercise the following rights with regard to your personal data:

  • Make an inquiry and review your personal data;
  • Request a copy of your personal data;
  • Supplement or correct your personal data;
  • Demand cessation of collection, processing, or use of your personal data, or deletion of your personal data.

When the University collects your personal data, if you have not filled in all required data, your application or grant payment might be delayed.
