Grants for attending off-campus competitions

To encourage students to participate in various off-campus competitions, in Taiwan or overseas, to enhance their professional skills and knowledge, and win awards for the University.

  • Eligibility:
    • Applicant must be a Tzu Chi University student
    • Applicant must participate in an off-campus competition, which is held in Taiwan or overseas.
    • Applicant must attend a competition in the name of the University.
  • Grant
    • The grant is only provided for students to participate in competitions related to their professional skills and knowledge. Competitions associated with sports, theses,  dissertations, or intercollegiate activities are not eligible for this grant.

The University provides the following grants:

  • Review criteria: 
    • Each application will be reviewed based on its visibility, professionalism, importance, representativeness, and contribution, and if needed, the University will invite an expert for assistance.

Note:

  • Application deadline: Two weeks before the competition.
  • The University will provide the grant to students for attending a competition, after approval. In case there is any schedule change, applicants must inform the University right away.
  • In case a similar grant has been or will be provided by others, the applicants should refer to the rules to make sure they can apply for it or not.
  • Submitting relevant receipt and expense report:
    • The application must be completed within two weeks after the competition.
    • Obtain approval from the department/institute/center/program, before submitting relevant receipt and expense report to CFDIR.
  • In addition to providing the grant, the University may make a public acknowledgement of student’s outstanding performance in a competition.
